Service Description:

This raster layer contains a hillshade generated from the Tonnagh Beg Bog LiDAR-derived Digital Terrain Model (DTM). Hillshading simulates illumination from an artificial light source, creating a three-dimensional representation of the terrain surface and improving visualisation of subtle topographic features.

The hillshade is intended for visual interpretation only and does not contain queryable elevation values. For terrain elevation information, refer to the accompanying Elevation Points feature layer, which provides interactive spot-height values derived from the source DTM.

Users should note that the source DTM exhibits a lower level of terrain detail and greater surface artefacts than some other LiDAR datasets included within this collection. These characteristics are inherent to the source data and are reflected in the hillshade visualisation.
